The Lanuvio sterling silver earrings are reproductions of a Roman coin depicting Annia Faustina from 146 AD. Each earring is carefully created with an ornate dome hanging from a French earwire, and four of these coins attached around the dome's diameter. Annia Faustina was the daughter of Antoninus Pius and the elder Faustina. She was the wife of Marcus Aurelius and was commemorated on the coinage as MATER CASTRORUM (mother of the camps) because she accompanied her husband on most of his campaigns.
